I realize some find great satisfaction in having a "cool" looking signature, I'll even admit some look decent. The ones that look decent are the small ones. The ones that resemble a signature, not a mini web add for yourself. I think it's bloody stupid to read a 4 line message and have a signature that is 10 times the length of the message! Not to mention the size of some of these images, trying to read a text based message board and it takes over a mintue to download 1 person's signature. I'm using broadband at home, but while I travel I am forced to use dial-up and I know there are many others too that use dial-up. Out of plain common courtesy to others not so fortunate to have high speed, would people lighten up on the signature's.

and considering probably 5/7ths of the entire TA crew are on DSL, it (for the most part) isn't a problem.
But like Henkie said, for those of you on 56k (and when i use my laptop on 56k it STILL isn't that bad....) , you can go to your profile options and choose not to view signatures. I tried that once (on the laptop) and it loads a LOT quicker.
So instead of setting a size/color limit rule, i think the people on dialup should just choose not to view any sigs if its a problem for them

yeah, i agree that when u're on 56k it can be a pain...i apologize to those for my sig...but if u're on 56k, then coming to the main tranceaddict site, then going to ur options and then going back is also gonne be too damn slow...so let's take it to the max, shall we...in IE, go to tools->internet options->advanced->then uncheck the box where it says "show pictures"....yeah i know...thats a lil extreme, but trust me it makes it even more quicker...

before i had (a)dsl i had a 56 modem and i agree that big sigs suck if you have a slow connection, that's why i minimized my sig (less quality but hey, who cares!!) .. it's only 27 k's or something..
I can't remember who's sig it was, but I got pretty cheesed when there was a 1 MB sig queued up for download in some threads.. that will definitely hurt the 56k'ers on here.. and BSE's huge ass sig was just too big, lol
