Trance producers have remixed Oldfield. Jam & Spoon did a mix of the last track on Tubular Bells 3- "Far Above The Clouds", which was a nice deep mix. Hardfloor remixed "Let There Be Light" from Songs of a Distant Earth, which was Hardfloor by the numbers, and BT did three mixes of the same track- the Pure Luminescence, Ultraviolet and Entropic mixes. These are all pretty standard BT synth-magic stuff that aren't particularly special, but the full, unreleased, cut of the Ultraviolet Mix has an awesome acid peak that is absolutely scorching. The trouble is that the only real place you can find this version is on BT's Rare & Remixed album.
There have been other mixes of Oldfield out there too- a fair few people have remixed the opening to the original Tubular Bells.
And finally, recently Oldfield has been incorporating a lot of synths into his work, to try and achieve that ultimate level of straight-faced pretentiousness, so if you haven't checked out his last few albums they might please you.
