Best Audio to Midi conversion software

What do you guys use for this purpose? And what do you reckon is the easiest one to use? Any tips on how to set up for recognition would be great. I am looking at Intelliscore at the moment as a possible, but I want to buy the best one for the job.

Thx.

What is your source material? Why do you want to do this?

Those answers could change what the best solution might be.

My source material is a tune that I really like. Its about 110 BPM and its hard to categorise what type of music it is. Its a new tune so theres no midi file on the web yet. So I need to find the best software to get the notes as I am not able to it by ear yet.

if it is a complete tune you should learn how to do it by hearing. don't expect too much from this software, it works quite good with a single melody. but even with that it messes up everything if there are too many fx on it

If you manage to find a break in the music where the melody you want is playing, Midi software might come in handy. Otherwise, like hereander said, you're going to have to do it by ear.

If you manage to find notation for the song over the internet, there is software available that will actually read the notation image and make a guess as to what the notes are. That is out of my area of expertise, unfortunately, so I can't give you any names, but I can tell you, all of the ones I have seen have been around $50 or more.

Google it.
