I know this question pops up 5 times a week, but please bear with me
I'm trying to decide on which of these players to get. I've been using Traktor for a while with a Behringer BCF2000 controller, but it's time to get some real hardware, and these are the best players I can afford (I have very limited cash.. )
1. The C304 has a filter effect. I use filters alot when mixing in Traktor. Can anyone tell me what kind of filter there are? (high pass, low pass or both). And how is the cutoff point controlled? (the online manual has very limited information about the effects)
2. The CDJ-200 has mp3 support, but I heard somewhere it only plays a specific type of mp3's... is this true?? What types of mp3's DOES the CDJ-200 play?
3. What are the Jet, Zip and Wah effects like?? Is the Wah effect a filter effect?? if so, what kind of filter effect? (hi/low pass?)
4. C303 versus CDJ-100s ? Which one is a better investment?
5. C304 versus CDJ-200 ? Again, which player do you prefer out of the two?
6. Are the C304's / CDJ-200's worth the extra 100$ a piece over the 303/CDJ100's ?
Also, in your opinion, what is the best mixer 200 dollars can buy??? (don't recommend me expensive mixers, please, I can't get anything more expensive )

id go with the Pioneer CDJ-200
1. The WAH effect is a LPASS/HPASS filter - turn the jog counter-clockwise to cut off the highs, turn it clockwise to cut off the low. simple as that!
2. Pioneer has superb antishock system. forget about skipping
3. Pioneer reads mp3 (only cbr, no vbr)
4. Pioneer has an accurate pitch (up to 0.02%)
5. loading time is 3.5 sec. for audio cds, and 5.5 for mp3
6. has resume function, if cd gets ejected accidently
7. its Pioneer
8. it has a full-functional digital out SP/DIF
9. signal/noise ratio is superb, very clear sound, minimal distortion
im hoping to get a pair of cdj-200s in summer

I recently got myself a pair of CDJ100s just to have some fun with really. Turns out I use them alot more than I expected. Great investment IMO. See if you can pick them up used somewhere, I got my pair for $300 used. I'm really not sure since I don't have experience with the CDJ200, but from what I understand the only difference would be MP3 support and a nicer look. If you don't need to play MP3's, go with the 100s. Good luck.

Yup, I think the 200s will be my pick, I don't really care about mp3 support, but 0.02% pitch adjustment versus the 100s' 0.1% is really important (is it even possible to effectively mix with 0.1% precision??? )
How about a mixer?? From the limited range of sub-200$ mixers, what is my best bet? (I need 2 channels, 3 band EQ, no mic input and no effects (all I need are filter effects, and that's built into the players ) )

you can get 1 CDJ-200 for $335. I paid $300 for both of my CDJ-100s ($150 a piece) and free shipping. Of course if you have the extra cash go for the 200, i figured you were strapped for cash and wanted to mess around a little bit. I currently have 2 1000's on their way to me

I wouldnt have baught 100s. You should have waited and got the stantons or the cdj200s. You cant scratch and you cant do long mixes (well you can but you have to adjust too often). The cdj100s are wway to outdated. You will most likely need to upgrade soon. But if your happy with your cdj100s then who cares isnt that the main point of buying stuff?
