Probably not yet, given that their software won't work on it yet. At least I am pretty sure not much works on it yet. I know for sure Live does not work on them yet and I don't Logic does either.

Actually I think Logic is out for the Intel Macs. I was mistaken. You can also get a beta of Live for the Intel Macs, although I wouldn't want to use it until it is released and the bugs are ironed out. What programs/computer do you use now? There are plenty of other powerful/stable machines that will work w/ a MOTU 828 out there right now if you are skeptical about picking up an Intel Mac.

Wavelab doesn't work on any Macs, does it? SX3 doesn't look like they have anything for the Intel Macs yet either. Sounds like you need a PC if you want to stick with that software.

Yeah, AMD 64 bit for sure, but I don't know if Cubase takes advantange of dual core CPUs yet, so it may be better to go w/ single core for now, perhaps a Cubase user on here could give you more insight on that. I just built a AMD Athlon XP 4000 w/ 2GB RAM and bought a firewire card for my MOTU traveler and am really satisfied with the setup.
Not sure if you need 4 GB RAM unless you use alot of VSTs, but it is pretty inexpensive so I don't see why not.

cool thanks Wood. Maybe i will look into this. The Motu 828 has this common problem. It does not work with Winamp or Windows Media Player...which might not sound like alot but makes it VERY annoying to monitor any samples or sounds...or get ideas from tunes. Your lucky the traveller works i guess with windows properly....It is to bad your soundcard is not 64bit to take full advantage of the cp...or is it?
