I dont understand this phrase at all because they are opposites. How can something be recorded and be live at the same time? I would much rather the internet radio stations say when a set is recorded and only use the live tag when the person is mixing...well uhm...live.

well the term "recorded live" is exactly that, something that was recorded when it was live!

Just seems redundant to me, how else can a recording be? Here we are not live at Ibiza with New Order preforming live!!

That means they play live in front of an audience as opposed as doing a set at a studio/using a pre-recorded set.
