No EDM week - day one

So, I've decided that starting monday morning and for a week following that, I wouldn't listen to any house, techno, trance or breaks. The last time I attempted this, I lasted three days and a half and then cracked. I didn't realize just how badly I was hooked to the stuff until I tried to get off it. The purpose of this is, of course, for the sake of diversity. So far it's been about 24 hours. I almost cracked earlier tonight during a long and quiet train ride, but I resisted the temptation and listened to the radio instead.

One of the reasons this is so difficult is because I have alot of trouble finding non-electronic music that I like. In that respect, I need your help.

I'm looking for a bit of everything, but mainly progressive rock. Some tracks I really like; Pink Floyd - Echoes / Shine on you crazy diamond, the court of the crimson king. But really anything would do as long as it's intelligent and not poppy.

"For the sake of diversity?"

It's diverse enough. I listen to (and mix) dub, ragga jungle, techno, acid house, progressive trance, grime, deep house, detroit techno, electro, drum'n'bass, classic trance, disco, hardcore, ghetto-tech, dubstep, industrial and dark ambient. I can't say I've ever felt the need to branch out to non-EDM (though of course I have, mostly to soul/funk/jazz, but it's always been natural).

If you find it so difficult to stay away from, then just stick to it until you naturally get tired of it.

Because I know there's non-edm music out there that I would appreciate, but I'll never get to hear it unless I give myself a kick in the butt and force myself to.

I already have a hard enough time trying to branch out of late 90s/early 2000 Progressive Trance/House into "electro", "minimal", and "tech" house which seem to be all the rage now.

Oops.

Some groups/bands:

The Spinto Band (check out the track "late" for sure)

If you are into some hip hop... check out DangerDOOM. It's a project with MF Doom and Danger Mouse. Great beats with some verses delivered in mf doom's trademark style.

I'm not sure if this counts, but the brand new beatles mashup album, hate, is super dope. It's not really dance music, but quality mashups of old and new beatles material with a seriou anti-war sentiments.

If you want some thrashing punk rock whatever the fuck check out a group called Art Brut. Had a chance to see these guys live and they put on a super crazy show and have been listed as one of the coolest bands to see live at the moment. It's like the streets on rock.
