xfader on 4 channel mixers...

If the CDJ's are on channels 3 and 4...then...how does the mixer know that when the xfader is all the way to the left that I want only channel 3. and when the xfader is all the way to the right i want only channel 4?

eh..i lack the hands on experience for these things.

also what is the advantage of being able to use a CDJ at 33rpm or 45rpm VS just using the +- %100 pitch range on regular CDJ's?

I saw the new dennon s3500 had a direct drive jog wheel that you could select to be used at 33 or 45 rpm just like a turntable.

Mostly this is to help people who are used to a certain speed. Personally when I am mixing with real records I prefer 45s, I have heard from people who scratch that they like to do it at 33. This is not to say that 33="scratch mode" and 45="mix mode", just that by offering the choice the DJ can use which ever they are more comfortable with.

...but it isn't a CDJ.

Anyway, quit using the crossfader. It's totally unnecessary, unless you're scratching, or playing with effects. You mix with your upfaders, yo.
