JP8000 introductory Help

I recently purchased a good old JP-8000 without a manual, and I was messing around with it for hours, checking out the different patches. Now what I was wondering was...is there any way I can start off fresh with my own sound instead of working up from the preset patches? Also, any idea how I can obtain that common supersaw sound with it or what patch to start off with?

I have a good amount of experience regarding the ASDR controls from vst synths such as vanguard or v-station and a good idea of what most of the other knobs each do, however...i noticed that with this keyboard, its not that easy...for instance, when I put the preset on a patch and start working up from it, whatever position the knobs and sliders are in dont effect the sound unless if i move them around a little first, sort of to like refresh it or something...but anyway...any ideas how i can start off with some cold cut typical supersaw sounds, like say Rank 1 - Awakening or Jordan & baker explodE??

thanks

yes, but he "has" a JP.. he only needs to change the waveform on Osc1 to "supersaw" that is the bunch of waveforms already detuned for him.

Would you believe Roland doesn't have a digital manual to download? Nonetheless some generous person has scanned it in (albeit rather badly) and posted it as a PDF. It's hosted on this site:

Generally, the initialization patch is 88. Scroll to bank 8, and then select preset 8, Change OSC 1 to Supersaw, shove the Detune and Mix to around 75% (or whatever) and you have an immediate supersaw template.

i just like totally reworking the current patches, i use my older analogue stuff to make my own.

But creating new patches with the JP8000 can be very satisfying
