tunes like these...

Syntax - Bliss

Luke Chable - Melburn

I think tracks like this suit quiet night time drives through the city REEEEALLY well.

Please, can u guys recommend me some more tunes that have that really warm, lazy sound about them. Tracks like Melburn with the "5-notes-apart" sound are VERY welcome

This is the first recommendations thread I've read where you have to do research just to be allowed to recommend something.

And stop calling them "drums", for fuck's sake. They've never been near a drum-kit.

nah no research, you should be familiar with the tracks that you know... right?

It's not hard to notice the contrast in good and shit trance

also, if I cant call them drums what do you want me to call them?

Beats. Percussion.

And you've detailed two loose groups of tracks which don't nearly cover all of trance, or really inspire me to get out a notepad and figure out what you want.

If you like Melburn, you might like Hernan Cattaneo and John Tonks - Warsaw.

P.S

I just feel like I have to add this. Please do not recommend Trance that has shit drums or synths. I have to constantly mention to TAs what I mean by "good" Trance and "Shit" Trance.

here goes one last attempt...

Examples of "Good" trance:

Motorcycle - ATRC (good drums, synths are ok)
Andain - Beautiful Things (Gabriel & Dresden Remix)
Sarah Mclachlan - World On Fire (Junkie XL remix)Tunes (nice drums. hihats have hardly any mid range)
PQM - You are Sleeping (really good snare, really good synths)
Everything In It's Right Place (Hybrid remix)
Telepopmusik - Into Everything (The MFA Full Vocal remix)
do u notice how none of those artists use shit drums...?

Examples of "Shit" trance:

Lost Tribe - Gamemaster (shit drums, shit synths)
Salt Tank - Pueblo Blanco (shit drums, shit synths)
Clank & Jones - Cream (shit drums, horrible synths
Skyscraper - The Hymn (shit drums, worse choir sounds)
DJ Albert - 4G (shit drums, shit synths, fucking demented vocals)
Silhouette - Can't Wait to Find Love
Aurora - Hear You Calling
Basic Avalon - Suspicious Love (shits drums, shit synths)
Fridge - Paradise (shits drums, average synths)
Gouryella - Gouryella (shit drums, shit synths)
Lovechild - Liberta (shit drums, shit synths)
Phrenetic System - After The Meteor (shit kick, hats are ok, clap is shit, synths also shit)
Marino Stephano - Vision Control (shit drums, shit synths)
Signum - Feel The Pressure (Baby Doc Remix) (shit drums, shit synths, fucking awful vocals)

I realise u guys are gonna stick up for these tracks because they are your Trance "classics" but u gotta admit, they are nothing like the tracks that are being made these days. At least you guys will know what sort of standard I am asking for now.

There is also the matter of vocals. there are two types of vocals. There are "melodic/normal" vocals where they sound good.

examples:

Telepopmusik - Into Everything (The MFA Full Vocal remix)
Andain - Beautiful things

Then there's "awful/whiny" vocals like the vocals found in "Paulmac - Just the Thing".

These are the type of vocals found in 90 percent of house.
These vocals don't seem to follow any melody and I personally HATE them.

more examples:

Girl Next Door/M&S - Salsoul Nugget
Dajae - Everyday of My Life [Junior Jack Vocal Mix]
Kings of Tomorrow - Finally [Danny Tenaglia 'Time Marches On' Dub]

You are a fucking cancer on this place. I'm sure we could easily raise $50 to pay you to never set foot here again. You ask the stupidest questions ever, and need a good slap to the face to come out with that shit about the 'awful' songs. You try to be controversial or different to get replies/views but nobody really cares.

You've stuck up 2 seperate lists of very similar bog standard shit trance and asked us not to recommend you stuff like that of the second list. You're an idiot.

Oh, and Marino Stephano has shit 'drums' and synths but Dave Dresden & Josh Gabriel's are 'ok?' You clueless turd.

I was expecting aggressive replies saying that those tunes were shit. I think that if you cant tell the difference between the good and shit list then YOU are the idiots.

The only one TA that knew what I meant by good trance isnt on TA anymore.
