Nope I bought the 1000 MK2s back last summer and I don't regret spending the $$ on them. I could have waited for the 1000 MK3s but I was sick of waiting too and I didn't think they would be released so soon, and I would have probably gotten the MK2s anyways because they would be a lil cheaper. They work like a charm. If your new and haven't bought stuff already, then by all means the 800 MK2s or the 1000 MK3s are what you should get. However I doubt any club will upgrade to those for a few new features. But yeah congrats on those and enjoy

Yeah because those people would bought CDJ-1000MK1's back in 2000-2001 really had to "upgrade". The new players are barely any different.

Basically.
cd = expensive equipment cheaper music. Vinyl = Cheaper to get equipment but the price of vinyl will kill ya.
I love em both. Instead of having cdjs i just use my pc. Update means download a new bit of software not the same controll as a cdj but easier to keep up to date.
