Marninx - Sunrise (preview)

Some time since I've posted a tune here, thats because I'm sorting out things with labels and such. Got a little preview of a new tune I'm working on now. Lot's of things in (for example) the build up need to be done but I think it gonna turn out great. Great atmosphere (at least it's what I think) Let me know what you guys think of it

Feedback is welcome as always

You're right about the atmosphere, I think it really stands out in this mix. The mix sounds balanced at the moment (at least on my computer speakers, I'm at work now). The sounds are crisp, which I like.
Now on to the break. The lead coming in is awesome, these kind of leads are my favourite types. During the break, the high frequency content is pretty strong...might want to look at lowering this. For the first break I think it sounds good, but I would have liked to hear something more contrasting and powerfull, building up faster or in a shorter period of time.
All in all, good so far, keep working on it, I would love to hear a finished product.
Sincerely,
Effero

thnxz for the feedback, I'll lower the high freqencies a bit so it sounds better. I'm also gonna workout the break more.
thnxz again, anyone more?

Hey Mate,

This is a sweet piece of work. The high frequencies problem has already been noticed, for the rest it is a lovely more progressive kind of tune. The break itself could be a bit fuller padswise though.

The leadsound is original, the atmosphere is great, too bad the clip is short so it is hard to say what is going to happen melodicwise later in the track. Also you could spice up the track a bit more percussionswise

For the rest no comments mate, keep up the good work, looking forward to the finished deal.

Cheers,

Nomen Nescio

Hey Sevenseas,

Fists time i'v seen you here on TA m8. Definetely nice work here, sound like you haven't been lazy on this production. I like the subtle chords that come in and out very much. I think I learnt a trick or two from hearing this. But I am known to always have something to say in my reviews, even on the best work. So hear goes.

BD at start is a little weak on the lows, which is masked by the rest of the channels eventualy. Would be nice to hear it shwoomp a little at the start.

@ 0.27: the effect seems to not be as subtle as the rest of the track and doesn't seem to intruduce the BL like I think was intended. I would go for a noise sweep myself. I would adjust the chorus a little on the BL too.

@ 0.42: I like the 1/2 chord. Don't hear that very often even tho is is an obvious thing to do. I does ring a little too much on the filters before it changes. Nice combination with the noise.

A bit later the arps seem to come in without my noticing a change, which is good. Goes well also with the noisy pad.

I like the main lead. It's simple. But simplicity is nice when surrounded by a more complex background.

Seems like your intent was to create a chillout mood. A lot of people like to dance, try a B-side with a bit more of a groovy drum section to make it a little more danceble.

All in all. A very dynamic track, you seem to like noise also. I have to say it does lack a little identity tho. Might be nice to have a melody that's realy recognisable. Or anything else that makes it recognisable.

kind regards,

Charlie Darwin

Music is as universal to people as breathing. We've probably been at it since before we even started talking. Immaging two cavemen smashing away at a peace of flint to make a spearhead. It wouldn't take long for them to learn te synchronise the sound. And there you have it, the words first percussive band.

Music has survived wars, famines, the plague and many other things and has evolved with man across many cultures. Dance music is just the next step in the evolutionary chain. My guess is that it will probably be with us untill we are extinced.

listening......

like the bass, maybe a bit too loud though
fxs are nice, good percs aswell
as said, there are a bit too much high fq
like that padish lead that comes in, though the panning is not that good in the break, too much on the right
i was expecting more energy after the break, although it sounds nice all together
add some more mids and cut some of the hi

overall this is a nice piece of music, needs some small improvments
like it
thanks for sharing

Thnxz for the positif feedback, it defenitly will help me finish the tune. But I dont know if I should put a very noticable melody in it, I think the atmosphere in the tune is created by the "not-melody" sound. I do gonna expand the break and give it a more symphonic feeling so... update soon!

nice sound to start with. kick is nice. maybe could do with more punch but it suits the sound of the track.. turn it up a bit maybe..?

nice bass. drives the track alond well. sounding like a nickson track.

good synth choice here.

i think the build becomes a bit repetetive. add some more elements as it progresses or chop away parts here and there. to make more variation.

break - LUSH! really good. the sounds could have a bit more of an open feel to them tho. not sur ehow, but they sounded a bit crushed..

overall i love this. a really nice chilled sounding track that was great to the ears.

well made marnix

rich

omfg... mate,

i want to produce like this.

the gatered chords in the begining are awesome. the bassline is good to and you came over with some great unique effects and sounds.

the mastering needs definitely some work. there are to much high frequencies in all areas.

the lead that comes up during the break... in compination with the other sounds... its a rush.

great tune. im realy curious about the finished version.

bye, niklas.
