A short rant about some of history's greatest philosophers & theologians
Some of the highest esteemed philosophers and theologians of the last millenium are utter idiots:
There's St. Augustine, who thanks god endlessly for everything good that happened to him, but blames himself for all his sins, without any reason.
There's St. Anselm that tries to prove the existence of god using reason, saying that because something exists in all men, it must exist as a single entity (taken from Plato's forms obviously), and taking the example of goodness to that there must be a supremely good being; to him I say: Where is a supremely tall being? or a supremely immoral being, or a supremely contradictory being? (oh right, that's god)
And now i'm reading St. Aquinas, who quotes scripture for proof that scripture should be taught.
Who the hell deemed them among the best philosophers of human history??
