Confused Chrono- Cross or Trigger?

I am going to buy one of the two cause I am really sort of money atm after the last game-shopping and I can't buy both.

Which should I buy do you think?

Chrono Cross...I tried the PS1 version of Chrono Trigger and it was UGLY. Obviously the graphics and audio sucked, but even worse, the LOAD times between areas and before EVERY BATTLE were unbearable. Considering the game is more than ten years old, you would think they could start a simple 2-D battle instantly, but NOOOO...You have a nice 4 second freeze before every fight. There is no excuse for this on a 2-D game, especially considering FF7/8/9 had shorter loading times.

yeah square snes games translated to ps1 aren't really the best things... for what you gain (FMVs mostly) - a lot is lost with the load times and that the sound isn't as good - the snes spc700 chip was a piece of art and an awesome workhorse

...didn't like cross much, trigger was great times - still have the cart somewhere. play it, snes style.

Play Chrono Trigger on SNES.

It's one of my fav games of all time. Don't bother with it on PS1 if they say its that bad

True. Load time is hellish.
