Lalin-Primary Emotion (original mix)

Hi,
I would like to use this opportunity to share my latest work with you.
This is a progressive trance song with melodic elements. The tempo is 140 bpm and it's 6:25 long.

In production I used knowledge and tricks picked up from previous projects. Mixing and mastering are two aspects that I worked hardest on. I also did not forget about other parts such as melody, arrangement or interest. Only the combination of all the above mentioned can give results.

It's hard for me to judge my own work, so I'm here in hope that there is going to be honest voices criticizing or commenting the work.
This time, my studio felt cluttered with the equipment I felt was un-ecessary and redundant. Therefore, streamlining was the first thing to do before starting to compose and mix.
You can streamline the 128 kbps file from here:

I appreciate all the comments and hope you'll enjoy the song
Regards
Lalin

well the intro is very.. boring but the tune "kicks in".
the "stab" or fade you used sounds messy, better do something about it.

the percs is a bit stiff but it is easily fixed, the break down is very nice and the melody coming in here is nice, overall great work just some teeny changes.

Nice, i enjoyed it.

I thought that the clap didnt really fit with the rest of the track. Personally, i would have a longer reverb on it.

DJ Cola,
yes you're right, I always have a problem with the intro...how do you make it interesting and unique?
I've tried several different arrangements, but to be honest with you made it the way it is, to give DJ's a chance to mix it in with the previous track easily. Some of the sounds might seems messy, then again I didn't want them too clear in the first place...just shooting for a darker feel. Percussion is something that needs extra shuffle, I agree.
supaflydude,
long claps or snares sound good, they're just used a lot, so I thought let's go with something else...maybe I'm mistaken.
Thanks for the review guys, I appreciate it.
Regards
Lalin

rofl i saw this kind of l8, a good intro... err... its no good answer to that but one thing to try for is to either make it rythmic or chilled... atleast i think so, a good idea is to not use to much fx's and percs beacuse that way the track might lack the energy to kick of!
