A man who showed up at his house only to find other people living in it touched off a fraud investigation in Ajax.
Durham Regional Police have charged an Ajax woman after she allegedly sold her former matrimonial home without her estranged husband's knowledge while they were separated.
Police allege that a woman forged her husband's name to an agreement of purchase and sale, then had a relative impersonate her husband at a lawyer's office to get the final documents signed.
Her husband learned of the sale when he showed up to the house and found new owners living in it.
Janet Florita Pereira, 49, of Robertson Drive in Ajax has been charged with fraud over $5,000 and two counts of uttering a forged document.
An arrest warrant has been issued for Jelese Vashawn Bush, 42, formerly of Lawrence Ave. E. in Toronto.
Bush is facing charges of fraud over $5,000, uttering forged documents and impersonation.

The grey rain-curtain of this world rolls back, and all change to silver glass...and then you see it...
...white shores...and beyond...the far green country under a swift sunrise."
