hey mate,

not bad for a first track. unfortunately your sample is very short.

the gated chords sound very good already. i would use some delay or reverb on them. its good to see that you play with variation on the melody, nevertheless it sounds a bit cheesy on the last two chords, i would change that. sometimes less (variation) is more.

the kick is much to low imo, try to find a kick with more high frequencies to give a more solid ground to the track.

your tune needs more percussions. some ordinary percussion work like an open hihat and a clap.

this is very much a standart drumloop but with the right samples it can already give some good drive to your tune:

k---k---k---k---
--h---h---h---h-
----c-------c---

k= kick
h= hihat
c= clap
-= blank bar

try to come up with a buildup. you should introduce the drums first, maybe add a bassline and later you can introduce the gated chords.
try to use some effects on the trasitions (crash and stuff like that).

as i sayd before, not bad for the first track. it needs some work but the gated chords have potential imo.

hope to hear an updated version soon.

bye, niklas.

A different kick sample should be used in my opinion. It's too weak. I don't feel the power or drive from the kick. I really like how this tune is starting to turn out. Get a new kick and add some more percussion. Add an open hat, clap, tambourine, ride cymbal, shakers and maybe congo if you want. The arp is nice, but more elements would add more rhythm and drive to this. It gets too repetitive without new added elements. That kick is wayy too loud at around 3:00 or so. It's definitely clipping when you add that element. Some more mid frequencies would be nice too.
