Over the past few months Proton Music has explored the sounds of progressive tech house. Now with Spring upon us we turn to melodic Techno first with an EP from the rising German duo Davis & May followed by a double-A side release from Umek.
Davis & May came out of the gate full throttle in 2007 supported by Sasha with their Neotron EP on Piemont records, the label & duos first release. Before long their music had been played by John Digweed as well. How is that for a start?
Now the two manage their own labels Maripoza and *back home as well as their monthly Proton Radio show. The Motion EP is their first solo release on Proton Music and features the absolutely orgasmic "Clouds Passing By" featuring visceral and evocative melodies that hark back to the labels "Fingerpaint" beginnings.
Support for the EP comes in from Proton's top jocks-- Anthony Pappa, Jody Wisternoff, and Jimmy Van M. Don't miss it![/i]
Thanks, I really like this....everything sounds sooooo good.
"Clouds Passing By" has this Holden sound to it, and very euphoric. Also wanted to say, Yes, these guys are definitely ones to look out for, I especially liked their Maripoza record.

Liked Clouds Passing by...does sound a bit like Holden.
The rest I can't decide. They're like trance trying to be techno but failing.

The thing about it is that hes trying 2 bring a new style tho just like he did with Just be and it worked. they songs areunt TOO HIGHT up. but the vocals acaully are the best thing in 2007. The Track Carpe Noctum is like traffic but it hink he could of prefected the shit ouf it. but generalllyy its an amazing album...oh and Ten Seconds Before Sunrise is like Forever today TIMES 12

Pretty nice release - I think I like Elementarmagnet most out of them.
Edit: Nope - relistening I prefer Clouds Passing By. The more I listen to this EP, the more I like it.

I wonder why this wasn't released under their Maripoza label.

I thought that too for a while when they started. White Flag Back / Maripoza was really good, Neotron was solid, but lately I haven't been impressed. They've gone kinda boring and formulaic pretty quickly.
Clouds Passing By and Positron sound nice though.
