or you can put the drumtrack at the very top of Cubase.
As strange as it may sound this is a general rule:
the parts on the top sequence tightest, the parts on the bottom sequence the worst qua timing.
So put you drums on top, and pads and the likes (that require less tight timing) on the bottom.
This has to do with how software sequencers process data, before sending it as midi out data.
This is for external gear, I'm not sure however if it also effects softsynths, and if it does, to the same effect.
