hey guys, my first post here, been browsing for a while

im trying hard to recreate the sounds for thomas bronzwaer as in his lead sounds, its quite a kind of plucked saw sound but having difficulties & dont know where to begin

the lead sounds are the ones used in 'Close Horizon' and 'Shadow World'

if anyone could try to recreate that or knows on how to program such things then please help if you can

Hey man

Personally I think the FX/EQing makes all the difference. The lead I use sounds awful when heard dry. It's a very basic saw lead, but I use a lot of EQing to give it sharp high frequencies and a nice punch. I also like throwing some VST fx on there like vintagewarmer and stereowidener. Then delays, reverbs etc... All this makes a huge difference and can make a lacklustre lead sound huge!

Hope that helps. Just try and find a lead sound you like. Then start messing around with it...

Thats pretty awsome, but when making leads i find EQ and effects to be the hardest but the most rewarding. Guess it takes time to learn how to EQ properly.

I find delay, reverb, stereowidener and eq to be the most important aspects into making a sound sound huge. It takes some time to properly learn how to use EQ, but with practice and reading you'll figure out how to make a boring, yet decent sound into a powerful lead, pad, hook that will drive your track.
