Orana Project - Untitled (help us name this one!)

It's been a while since we've posted anything here. We've been working on a few projects, focusing on keeping our sound as fresh as possible and fine tuning our style.

This track is our latest (updated link):

http://s53.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=...UU2WOSR4SV7Q476

We don't expect everyone to like this one, but please comment if you wish. Also, we're not coming up with good ideas on a title for this one, so if you got a name, let us know! We might just use it

Regards,
Ethereal (and Tyler C) but more importantly Ethereal

Orana Project - really really low bitrate (distortion mix)

quality is horrible so im not sure how much feedback your gonna get because of that....
not a huge fan of the guitar ....... not my style really.

production wise it is good.... thats all i can really say.

Good stuff. I like the guitar gives the song a lot of intensity then breaks down, nice swooshy pads. Well produced as always with u lol.

Its got a kinda mysterious feel to this song. When i listen to the tune it kinda reminds me as if some1 is in a panic or a hurry, or they are looking for something so maybes that can help u with the song title

good to hear something new and fresh in tracks

didn't hear the distortion till this morning, when i could play the music louder. i woudln't call 128 really really low, lol...

guitar part clips, we'll have to rerecord, i think it's a line-in issue (charley, your sound card sucks).

thanks for comment rogers and gowansy

whoa cool harmonies in this one!!! nice dark drive a bit of distortion couldnt hurt the track, it would only stress the darkness more which is great. cool guitar! guitar clips .. bèh ;D..
ah f:ck nice breakdown.!
I think you'd call it - Dark Rituals, Black & Blue, Tempest & Rocks (note the guitar hehe).. something dark and evil .. duhh
( i love .. & .. names )

Hmmm... Now I've listened a few times and I still can't work out if this is very good or not so. It's very well produced at least, but the guitar part sounds very disjointed from the rest of the track. Maybe try a low bassy pad following the guitar? Or a little reverb? Or something to blend it in more!

The start and endy bits are top notch though. Maybe make a non-middley bit version? Oh, and well done for trying something original. Always great to hear!

The non-guitary melodies and percs have a real eastern vibe to them. I liked that.

Listening,

Starts off sounding very Arabic. The harmonic minor is something I haven't heard in a while. Sort of a tribal feel to it. Haha, but what a sudden change of style. The guitar like makes it sound more like a soundtrack to a movie. Then back to the the Arabic feel.

Dunno, maybe you want to make it into two songs, but here's a title idea. Arabian Madness :-P

Hey guys, nice effort with the tune. The rock section didnt grab me so much.. just think it kinda chops and changes between the two genres a bit.. one track I do like with rock parts in it is that "darude - music (bostik remix)" track.. he infuses it a bit better IMO, so yeah.. besides that nice sounds guys.

not really your style for the most part with the guitar.

little distortions throughout, a little is good, but it has a tad too much, almost like it's a lower bitrate or a bit of static. see if you can clean it a tad, but a little is good.

the guitar part, while very cool, is too disjointed imo. its a taste thing. some will love it, some will hate it. you may want to consider a few alternatives before deciding if you want to keep it or not at the end, or whether you can do something with it if you do decide to keep it.

overall, nice and dark. i'd start a naming process after you decide if you want to keep the guitar or not.

one suggestion if you want to go with it, use that element at 1:37 of the sample. also the guitar fits better at 1:57 or so, when you introduce a few other elements/bells & whistles.

the rest is great. not totally my style but nice and dark, unique, well done. i like 2:43, that little vocal. keep that as is, don't add it elsewhere =)

track itself is almost psy trance, oldschoolish with a mediterranean/arabic twist.

title suggestions:
desert wind
night mirage
dune
veiled eyes of fire

ps, that damn guitar is growing on me. first listen throws you for a loop, third listen, it sounds good.

thanks for the comments guys.

the guitar is definitely gonna get re-recorded before we do anything with this. it was originally recorded out of my amp's headphone jack into a $30 soundcard

its kind of our goal to be 'love it or hate it' producers. as a buddy of mine said 'if you dont have something that people make fun of you for, you aren't being original'

i actually had a buddy of mine play this out a few times to see how people reacted to that guitar part and it went down surprisingly well.
