Another Article (and video) on TO Nightclub safety
here's another short article on TO nightclub safety.. i found it kinda funny that the club footage that CityTV used in the story was taken from like over 5 years ago when they published a story around the Rave protocols..

With recent acts of violence like the shooting of a man at the Sound Emporium nightclub and the stabbing of a 12-year-old girl, security at local nightclubs is crucial to maintaining order.
Earl Forde tackles such a job at Mink Nightclub, and he is adamant that safety is the number one priority.
“We will ask them to wait in line and at that point they will come into the club but we have someone who searches them and we escort them into the club,” he says.
“They try to be thorough but not so thorough that the person feels like, ‘Why are you touching me?’ We look for any kind of drugs or knives.”
According to Forde, tight security keeps troublemakers at bay.
“What they see is a deterrence and whatever they may have they will take it back to their car or they will understand this is not that type of club.”
“From the security we show our presence and we try to deter anyone that might be coming in. We do have a strict dress code and once a person is actually dressed appropriate, we find that that kind of deters any kind of trouble makers from coming in.”
