Old school chord sound - sample included

This is a sample from prob the biggest old school tune ever - Let me be your fantasy (Dancing Divas remix). I just love this sound, it just makes you want to dance. I really would love to recreate this sound, I'm guessing FM7 would be the right tool. Would any of you synthesists out there be able to tell me what the waveform consists of, or even recreate it.

Thx in advance for your help.

PC

Old school chord

Its a piano- loads of classic synths have presets like that one.
presests were used a hell of a lot back in the day

Any idea on a VST that might have a preset that I can tweak to get it right?

Korg legacy digital. It has the M1 in there which has one of the classic house pianos in there

I have that! But the preset doesn't sound as "dirty" it just sounds like a piano. A pointer in the right direction would be great as to where to start tweaking.

Cheers Diginerd

1 . Slightly detune the oscs.

2. turn off the onboard FX

3. Play a chord, record it back in and trigger that as a sample

4. For authenicity drop the bit depth of your sample to 12 bit, and no more than 30Khz sample rate. Don't dither.. Now you are starting to approximate the Akai S900/S950 used in a lot of those early tracks
