The Politics Thread

Guys let's be sensible about what we type.

We're here as a part of a generation of EDM listeners not

I repeat

NOT, to bash on one another's political views.

Whatever you support that's cool, let's just respect each other.

Anyway, if you got something intelligent to say about the current political situation that won't offend anyone type it in here otherwise just keep it to yourself.

kthxbye

P.S. My two cents - since Kerry supports Scientific Research and is willing to create more government grants for that area, and both of my parents are immunologists, I support him. However I believe the country can benefit from both candidates. I mean these guys graduated Yale and whatnot - you can't just sneak through Yale, even if you are an x-presidents son. So I believe each one of them is an intelligent human being with lots of good ideas, though Bush does struggle with wording them properly, but that's fine - there are many of us that can't word shit properly, just check out some threads.

Ok, so back to the discussion I tried to start:

What do people think Kerry is gonna do? Be a man and admit defeat today so that the country can move on, or go democrat crybaby on us and drag things out until all provisional ballots are counted in Ohio?

Hell, at least Al Gore had some credibility to his challenge. After all, he was less than 1000 votes behind in the deciding state and he won the popular vote by a small margin.

I think if Kerry does not concede today he ends up looking like an idiot. He lost the national popular vote by 3.5 million votes and its all but impossible for provisional ballots to make up the 140,000 votes he is behind in Ohio.

Why go down in history as a bigger crybaby loser than Al Gore?

145,000 and you're right by all accounts he lost, but i think conceeding will make him look like a l0s3r too so he just sticks it out until the absentee/provisional ballots are in and then gives up but definitely NO RECOUNT this time around, that would just look stupid on his part

I think we're at war whether we like it or not.
Terrorism is not going to pack up and go away if Kerry shows up in the office.
Personally I like the Soviet Union's policy on terrorism -
if you kidnap any of our country mates we find out who you are and kill your family - that's why they started wearing masks in decapitation videos

since 1997 (or something) there hasn't been a single russian captive in the middle east

I doubt they will re-enact the draft, there are enough people in the Military right now, that one wouldn't need to be enacted yet.

I voted for Badnarik, even though there is no way he could EVER win. As long as our electoral system is the way it is, a 3rd party will NEVER win. People kept saying there were picking the "less of two evils", I say, "Why not vote for someone who isn't Evil?"

Oh well, I guess Bush won, I don't think Ohio is going to do much for Kerry, did he even get the popular vote there?

We are FUCKED for the next 30 years, not 4, if Bush wins and here's why.

It's 30 years and not 4 because of the Supreme Court. In this next four years, THREE justices will be either dying or retiring, including the chief justice. The next president will appoint new justices, and that will affect our next 30 years. Needless to say Bush will appoint Justices with similiar values to his own and with the Republican control of both House and Senate, whoever Bush appoints will be guaranteed.

Hope everyone likes ultra right winged conservatism.
