Which, believe it or not, is higher than other major presidents that have been mired in scandal/major events during thier terms.

I don't point this out to stuck up for the guy, but more to point out that it really don't mean a whole lot apparently.

I can find other links showing Bush having lowest ratings than this, however unless you impeach him, the voters will have their say come election time...

The Republicans are worried. They also lost their chance to gain the latino vote by catering to the right wing extremists. Today I heard that after the May 1 Mexican Labor Day strike, that the latino community plans on holding massive voter registration drives & is encouraging all residents to become citizens, and to VOTE. Their goal is to make the Republicans loose their majority in Congress & Senate. This morning on my way to a job site, I heard the leader of the DC Rallies sheaking on CSPAN about todays upcoming event, he was from Columbia, and sounded very intelligent & articulate. My guess is he will likely become a permanent force in the political scene.
I think the Republicans awoke a sleeping giant when they threatened to turn 11 million people into felons & punish latino churches.

my point being that a low approval rating is hardly going to deter a man who cant stand for re-election from carrying out his agenda as best he can. of course the advisors are monitoring, they'll be there tomorrow whereas bush wont.
