They snagged me twice in a row a few years ago. It's not really very exciting, and chances are you will be dismissed. The majority of cases plea bargain and thus settle out of court. You can also carefully answer the questions in such a way as to select yourself out. Don't be overly offensive or obvious, though, as this can backfire.

If you live on your own or pay a good chunk of the rent that you rely on your work for and your work doesn't pay full wages while you are on Jury Duty, just call for Hardship. That is, if you do jury duty you won't get enough pay from your work to maintain your living costs (rent, bills).
Or when they ask you a question about you, just answer in a way that gives them the indication that you are already biased towards one side. Easy out.
