Good Friday is a holy day celebrated by Christians on the Friday before Easter or Pascha. It commemorates the crucifixion of Jesus at Calvary. Special prayer services are often held on this day with readings from the Gospel accounts of the events leading up to the crucifixion. Mainstream Christian churches view Christ's crucifixion as a voluntary and vicarious act, and one by which, along with resurrection on the third day, death itself was conquered.
Remember: On Good Friday only one meal is to be consumed and no meat is to be eaten.

In Jerusalem, thousands of pilgrims filled the Via Dolorosa -- the path believed to be where Jesus carried his cross to his death.
Fourteen stations were set up along the path with each location marking a different event from the day of Christ's death. Worshippers from all around the world gathered to pray and sing at each of the stations.
Israeli Arab Christians were notably one of the largest groups in the procession.
The pilgrims eventually made their way through the narrow streets to the location of Christ's crucifixion, the Church of the Holy Sepulcher.
Inside the church, pilgrims attended a special mass and kissed the gravesite believed to be where Christ was buried.
One group from California re-enacted the final walk in costume with one man portraying Christ. The man appeared blood-soaked, wearing a crown of thorns and carrying a large wooden cross to the Holy Sepulcher.
Since portraying Christ is a blasphemous act in the eyes of the church the man had to remain outside.
Place of Crucifixion (above)
Inside the church is a rocky outcropping which is the traditional place where the cross was placed. Archaeological excavations have demonstrated that this site was outside the city but close to one of its gates and thus would have been a good location for a crucifixion.
The Edicule (above)
This structure preserves the location of Christ's tomb. This has been the revered location of Christ's tomb.

best fish i've ever had, was while I was in scotland. I was staying in Ayr (on the west coast) and all the seafood was fresh. Followed up by a deep-fried mars bar *drool*
