You know they make record for that right?

Like DJ rectangle has some cool ones. I never could get scratching to sound right. Instead of scratching I just use my scratching records to add some charachter to a set. Ill throw it on the table and turn of the TT. Then Ill manually turn the record then back it up varying speeds. It can add a cool effect...but other times you just make a bunch of nonsence and then miss your cue cuz you're goofing off.

Best bet is to find a hip-hop track you like and scratch to the instrumental versions.

Get some battle records. I prefer Dirtstyle records. They have some nice instrumental battle breaks to practice to. I reccomend not practicing to anything over 100 BPMs for a good while because it will just be frustrating.

I like the dirtstyle ones also... Qbert takes care to have his vinyls the best sound quality and pressing so it ususally causes you to drop the volume consideribly to keep it level with your bashed other scratch vinyls... The slight problem is the background tracks he uses are done to death by everyone else...

Good ones for sound and effects to scratch with would be scratch roulette and the special scratch series...

Speaking of scratching... has anyone else seen this stupid thing before... http://www.scratchophone.com/

well qbert has his somewhat portable turntable that he uses.

saw him use it on tv once...not too shabby imo...think he said something along the lines of he wanted to be like people who would play their guitar at the beach or whatnot but was limited to bulky ass equipment

I think its pretty cool that now turntables are officialy instruments now.
If i was a turntablist i would buy one of those things straight away.

But im talking in terms of the vestax QFO.
There hasnt been anything like this where the soul purpose is scratching and its just a single pice of equipment. Maybe there has but not on such a large mass produced scale.
