Acid Pro 6 baby

Finally ACID is starting to get cred in the midi department.

Check this screen shot out:

I'm still not using ACID, but I used to use it a lot back in the day (Acid Music 1, and 2, woot).

But now they've finally gotten around to really sprucing up ACIDs midi engine.

Better automation. You can set record ready and inputs on midi tracks a lot easier now.

AND instead of ONE track being devoted to a single loop, it's just like any other DAW and multiple sound clips can go on whatever track you want.

So I'd say it's a very big improvement. I'm going to be messing around with it for the next couple weeks maybe.

What are all your thoughts?

Acid 6 is badass. I've done only one track on it but as far as midi sequencing goes.. It's really flexible compared to the older versions and the fact that you can tweak your audio however you want is awesome too. Acid is finally coming around to stand up to the big boys imo. The audio engine sounds great so far and cpu usage is pretty low. It's buggy for sure because I'm having problems with the Antares filter but hopefully they'll update it and fix it soon. Now if only I stop wasting time and upload that track I just made.

Granted. Everyone likes their favorite ways of creating, but it is worthy of being a good sequencer for serious production. Maybe the bias from buying it back in the day has stuck with you till this day?

Download a demo and play with it if you have the time. It's pretty good stuff. It's ALMOST running along side with the big names out there. It's a bummer it has the Sony label though. Ahhh the good old days of Sonic Foundry.

yeh, i'll admit i'm biased...i'm sure its a lot cheaper then cubase, so in that respect it might be a good alternative...but as a current cubase user, just by looking at the screen, it doesn't look like there anything to offer to me that i don't already have.

I bet this software is pretty powerful, but I don't like the interface (it's so busy)

So does it have full midi implementation? Stuff like step record, Quantize, all CC editing? Full on piano roll and event views?

If it does I may just have to switch over to Acid. I love it for its loop ability and audio stability.

See, I'm a big time Sonar/Cakewalk fan, but I'm starting to look for other solutions because Sonar 5 Pro keeps crashing on me all the time. It's getting to the point where I may just only use it as a midi sequencer and do all my audio editing and tracking in Acid.

Looks fugley but I'm sure it gets the job done.

How does it sound though? I'm thinking of doing most of my project in Live and mastering in this.
