Has anybody ever had this? I've a consultation booked in for next week and I'd love to hear from someone who has had it done.

if you've still to go through university or whatever, wait with the glasses until you've done then get the treatment, you'll find that hours of reading fuck up your vision again. wait till uni is done then go for it
the only thing stopping me from getting laser vision correction is the fact that there really hasnt been a long enough clinical study trial.... i mean, 20 years from now what will the effects from the laser be like on me eye? will i be blind by then? its to risky for me right now, but i hear they do have correction where they dont even make slits in the eyes anymore. so that might work.

wow lazzzzzeeeeeeeers are everywhere. did u guys hear that you can now quit smoking from a LASER theropy kinda deal. it's nuts. 300 bucks.
I have been wearing glasses for almost 12 years or so and I am sick of them.
I REALLY REALLY want to wear sunglasses ( wannabe fashion wh0re ).
Anyhow I tried contacts. On my first try testing them one got stuck in eye and the people in the shop were sure it had fallen on the ground or something. Kept scratching my eye like a mofo and the day after the thing fell out right in middle of class. And that was that. Didn't continue.
I would love contacts but the hassles and the prospect of having to take care of them just bothers me.

Yeah I wore contacts for 4-5 years and then suddenly developed an allergy to them so I couldn't wear them anymore! That's why I'm going for this consultation as I look like an ass (and am very self conscious) with glasses. I really hope this works out. I'd give all the money I had if it was sure that I'd get a good result.

Cool. I would be the happiest man on Earth if the same thing happens to me.

Nah, university is long gone. I'm 25yo. I do use a computer in work quite a lot and this may be a bit of a bitch for a while.

I've had two eye surgeries (not laser but muscle), and compared to other surgeries I've had (i've really fucked myself up playing sports ) - they were a walk in the park. Nothing to be worried about.

I've contemplated eye surgery but I feel that it's not the right time. Perhaps later on when the vision gets worse. I like my glasses and contacts, specially the glasses although they might cause ear pains every now and then.

My brother got lasic a few months ago and within days his vision was 20/10. Whole procedure took about five minutes from sitting down to walking out. Expensive, but well worth it.
