Shore of Solitude [melodic 128kb] soundclick

Greetings... I mostly finished it (a second version).

Shore of Solitude

I created this melody a while ago before I thought of trying to mix it into a trance track. Since the full melody isn't a standard 8-bar, I consider this an experimental epic with Ibiza/ proggy elements. Because of my musical frustrations with the melody the arrangement is unorthodox...

If anyone else says I sound like ATB I'm gonna.......

I'm actually a bit frustrated with how this song turned out. I'm sure I'll mix it again sometime in the future, and make it more minimalistic.

Thanx for reviewing my track man.. So I figured I'd drop by and review yours. Now onto the track.. A very melodic and uplifting track here... I like how you've created an atmosphere in your track. Can't say much but most of your stuff is spot on. Can't seem to find any flaws to begin with. You know what you are doing so keep at it.

hey there .

the intro is cool, i think the bird noices might be a bit to loud.
they hurt .
dang this track sounds like the track i started .

guess alot of people got the idea to make a summery track .

your melody is really cool!
i think the birds stop to quickly too, they just stop.

you have got a nice atmosphere in this .

sort of reminds me of beachball at the beginning.

you should fade the birds out they just stop all of a sudden. definately has a summery vibe to it. i like this though has a nice happy feel to it.

dont like the percussion in the breakdown it sounds off key too much. might be the delay you have on it.

lovely pads hovering in the background. nice production and good melodies.

keep it up!

big kick. would like more high presence from it tho.. only a bit of slap to it.

seagulls are nice.

the track has quite a feel good factor to it. summery and very clean i like the harpy melody. big and nice. but give it some nice highs so its more open.

break. the seagulls are great. melodies - still summery. you have a nice emotion.

breakbeat - this sounds great. i love the bass/melody variation during the breakbeat.

main - superb! ungeneric melody. classical music making is a word that comes to mind. the kind i loved from the 80's.

for me this is really nice. production needs polishing. refining. as does arrangement. but the whole package oozes loveliness

great stuff mr four

rich

Thanks all...

@ DJ Kane

I'm not so sure which percussive element you are referring to that sounds off-key. If it's the hats, I don't have an accurate theory on how white-pink noise can be tuned into a track. Care to enlighten me?

@ richg101

Thanks for the classical music compliment. Yes, I wrote that melody on a piano before I ever thought about EDM-ing it. I think classical music has already done alot of good in the euphoric-epic trance realm.

sounds like its offbeat. i know a lot of percussion has offbeat hats etc but it just doesnt seem to fit with your breakdown.

Hey,

commenting as I listen...
nice intro with the seagulls.
The track seems pretty slow to me. Dont know if that was your intention, but it seems kinda lethargic at some points... the problem is that your percussion arent driving the track in the right direction, or so it seems to me. I am not saying you should do a speedcore massacre here, but have a look at your percussion section, maybe you could make it fuller - I got to say I dont really dig the hihats on this one.
The melodies seem a little muffled. I would make the guitar a little clearer. Maybe that pad in the background could become a little less heavy in the low-mid frequencies. You will get a cleaner mix and a brighter sound, you will see
The bass is really great, just like it should be.
Overall, the mood works really well. Your tracks are getting better and better sound-wise. Keep it up!
