This is my third real trance techno song ever, and I am pretty young so any help would be greatly appriciated!
Be as harsh as you deem neccessary. I won't be offended, cause I know I am really new to this.

Trance Breakdown

If you want, you could even listen to the earlier version of this, cause its under the same profile on there.

Very dissonant sounds here. Techy, but they sound a little dry.

The highpass snare-line during the groove sounds out of place. I'd change the instrument on that.

The snap-ish clicky clap sounds low quality. I'd change that.

The breakdown doesn't really add new elements to the track much. THe melody sounds a little strange on the vibe, and I'm not so sure if I like it.

You also need to be more aware of the sonic tendencies of the various instruments. The bass isn't bassy enough, and could use some EQ and compression. The kick sounds like a raw 909 setting that isn't loud enough when it needs to be.

THe primary synth has an akward detune to it that sounds alot like a 3xOSC setting.

These are all nit-picks and very harsh.

On the positive note... I will comment that you sound like you should be more into the progressive-trance scene. Your style sounds funky-ish, and it doesn't revolve around a typical epic-trance vibe.

Experiment, master your sounds, and you will definately do yourself proud in the future. Spend more time in the mixer !

Good luck.

Thanks very much for the help! I will work on that.
But how do I change the detune of the primary synth?
And I knew that things sounded wrong in certain parts, but I just couldn't put my finger on it. You helped a whole lot!

(BTW do you have any tips for the kick? Thats the worst thing for me.)
