another note.. i'm not looking to be cheap ass with those "dj in a box" things (unless someone can really recoomend one) and there's no way i'm ready for the high end gear yet (both as a dj and finacially) so i'd like ideas on stuff that will geat me going, and be nice enough for a couple of years.. thanks in advance!!

Thumbs up I recomend........

I dunno if u can get em in da States, (I live in the UK) but I would recommend Some "Citronic PD-1s" with a "Citronic 7:2 Mixer". These are direct drives, obviously not as good as technics, but at a price of 345 pounds (not dollars) for the package, its a damn good deal

hey-

well, while i cannot recommend any brand besides technics, i just thought i would drop my opinion into the matter. i would definetely reccomend dropping some more money into tt's now, than buying a quality mixer. you may already know this, but it will be a pain in the ass to upgrade your tables later, mainly because they cost more. whereas a mixer runs less, so it would be easier to get a higher quality one on your wallet. that's the advice i took, and it helped me out. i would also reccomend shopping around online, it's a lot cheaper than buying at stores, even with shipping. i got all my gear from Six Star DJ, good service and fast shipping. anyways, good luck

Idea

Numark ones are pretty good, although in my country it's impossible to get hold of them- I can only read about them and form my own conclusions based on what I have gathered. Kam's KMX-300 is quite a good mixer to get, too, because it will last you a couple of years at least, is not high-end, and not too expensive.
