Absolutely intrigued by the progression in this set, although I am not a hardstyle fan, I am curious to see where this set takes me. Here we go...
Love these angelic vocals, very peaceful and relaxing...
Not a big fan of the first transition, feels like it was too abrupt, I was really digging the relaxed atmosphere, and it felt broken when the next track started...
Nice ambient mix of Rapture, like it...
So far it is very relaxed, however, I feel there are too many different vocals in the first 12 minutes. Everytime a new voice comes about, I feel the flow is a little broken.
I like the transition from the Conjure One track into the next one (I think this is the transition). Neat and funky strings during the beginning...
Great mix out of Nothing, EQing is bang on and beatmatching is perfect!
So far the progression is great, minus the different vocals earlier, the set is still progressing beautifully!
Getting into the trancier stuff now and your mixing is impeccable. Beatmatching is great, EQing and Gains all sound great! Tracks are staying short, keeping my attention, and allowing you to increase the BPM without me noticing so much, great work!
Really starting to get into this set, wow, incredible progression...
Overall
Ambient section was very good, but I found there were too many different voices too early. The mixing between worked very well, progression was otherwise smooth.
Proggy section was excellent, loved the emotional songs, thanks to the vocals once again. Beatmatching was great, EQing and the such perfect.
Trance section is chock full of my favs from a few summers ago. This section definitely has SUMMER written all over it. Again, the BPM shift is barely noticeable throughout the entire progression.
HardTrance section also has great mixing, tracks are definitely raising the energy.....getting a tad too hard for me though....
Score: 8.8/10
Why? Love the originality, its just that there was too much vocals in my opinion. But fundamentally the set was excellent. What did you use to mix this? It all moves so quickly that I fear it is done using software? Am I right? Regardless, the originality and quick progression (20 songs in 80 minutes with a 100 BPM range) is absolutely outstanding.
