Does anyone know what the black thing is at the back of the top deck next to the tonearm? (Between the tonearm and the platter)

Hmm... (looks at my mk5's) what the hell? Haha, I never really cared too much for what it is either, its a hole.. there... why? Ah, I know, it holds extra needles if you got them... excellent. (places extra needles in the holes)

Cheers. When you say hole, do you mean like on the other side of the platter, where it is just a recessed gap, ie not a comlete hole/

Nope, its not a complete hole where you can't have things fall in.

im guessin you mean the one to the left of the tone arm (if set up mixing style). it's to hold another cartridge.
