Talking Going to Germany...Need Advice

I will be coming to Germany in a week on a school exchange trip and will be staying for three weeks. I just want to know if any of you Germans have any useful advice for me. I'm American so are there any "American" things I might do that would annoy you without trying to? Teachers have explained to me basic differences and things I should watch out for but I would still like to know some stuff in case they missed things. It's gonna be great and I'm looking foward to visiting Germany.

Thanks!

what did they tell you about us and where are you going to stay?

anyways...most germans don't like:
- death penalty
- guns
- talking about WW 2
- stupid questions about germany (that doesn't mean that you mustn't ask anything...but some american asked my mate if we'd have computers and phones in germany and they didn't believe that BMW, Mercedes and Prosche are german cars ...somebody asked me why i don't wear lederhosen and if adolf hilter was still our president)

but maybe that's just me

and 99% of what is 'typical german' is wrong, but you're gonna see that for yourself

I`d really like to know what they told...What are the do`s and dont`s for a trip to Germany? Believe me, we`re very friendly here and really like americans (lot`s of americans living in Germany and also still lots of military stationed here). Also almost everyone here speaks english, so you`ll get along well.

There`s nothing to worry about when going to Germany/Europe, since europeans and americans have a quite similar western culture.

Where exactely are you going to and how old are you (so that we can give you clubbing advice... )?

BTW: Beer and Wine from the age of 16, harder alcohol = 18 or older! Have fun!

Cheers,

Sir. Lunchalot

Well pretty much they told us don't walk on the bike path or you'll get run over We're also not allowed to drink which sux but there's ways around that I was told that, "there are many small differences between Americans and Germans, for example Germans don't ever drink water from the tap but always from bottles rather". Thats my german teacher talking there whos going with us. Also to follow recycling procedures and other little stuff.

My other question is how many people are really into techno/trance? I know its going to be a lot more than here but are still the majority of people into pop and such?

The town I'm staying in is Moers, I heard its kind of a small town so I don't know if anybody has heard of it.

Thanks again
