As early as 1992, Kenny Glasgow was pushing the boundaries of modern electronic music through active promotion and turntable manipulation. As one third of JMK (together with Jeremy and Mike), Glasgow promoted and hosted illegal warehouse shindigs under the banner Family Tree. For two years the trio threw their renegade raves, inviting esteemed DJs such as Roger Sanchez, Nick Holder, and DJ Disciple to join in the fun. Glasgow's unique skills behind the 1200's earned him a spot at Toronto's Industry. There he would mix a finely tuned blend of future house and funky techno alongside the likes of Daft Punk, Basement Jaxx, and Danny Tenaglia. Since the club closed its doors in 2000 (in a sense, it was a victim of its own success), Glasgow has broadened his scope and is now playing regular gigs across North America.

Enter Tiga Sontag, Turbo Recordings' label manager and a man with a penchant for anything with "tech" in its title. Sontag commissioned a mix from Glasgow to kick-start his Toronto Mix Sessions series, and Glasgow duly responded with a mammoth (and equally magnificent) 16-track set. At times quirky, minimal, and retro, The Toronto Mix Sessions is an exquisitely mixed and highly engaging compilation.

From the JMK warehouse days through to '98 raves, Kenny will educate, please, and tease the most cued up crowd. JMK was a trio DJ act that made its roots in the underground, illegal warehouse scene of early house music days in Toronto. Jeremy, Mike, and Kenny hosted warehouse parties called 'Family Tree Parties' with as little as two hours to two weeks promotion. The trio played back to back all night, alongside guests they would invite; Roger Sanchez, Teddy Douglas, Peter & Tyrone, Nick Holder, and DJ Disciple were amongst those booked. The warehouse scene flourished and JMK soon had a loyal following of five to eight hundred die hard, dance all night party goers. This continued until the demise of JMK in fall of '94, thus ending the era of Family Tree Parties. Kenny began to play smaller raves, and it was here that he was truly able to perfect the style he's adopted as his own; more minimal, harder, but always funky. In early '96 Kenny's sound earned him numerous guest spots at Industry nightclub. Partnership with his long time friend, Mario J, led Kenny to the studio once again, where much time was spent making tracks that reflected his ability to 'put the funk' into any dancefloor.
