This guy is my new hero.

LONDON (AP) - He was, quite literally, out on a limb. On Tuesday, a drunken student who spent the night in a tree had to be rescued by British firefighters.

"Alcohol and climbing trees don't really mix," said Nigel Limbrick, of the Gloucestershire fire department. "In all seriousness, he could've killed himself if he had fallen.

"He had had a skinful and in his inebriated state he climbed 100 feet (30 metres) up a pine tree, without his shoes on. He then fell asleep," Limbrick said. "I'm not quite sure how he managed it, but he woke up wrapped around a branch."

The man, whose name has not been released, is a student at the Gloucestershire College of Arts and Technology in Cheltenham, about 160 kilometres west of London. He used his cellphone to call firefighters after waking up around dawn, chilly and confused, in the tree.

Eight firefighters needed 90 minutes and ropes and pulleys to get him down from his precarious perch. Paramedics at the scene treated him for some scratches, but he was otherwise uninjured.

"He was a bit quiet when he came down and a bit embarrassed," Limbrick said. "I think he got a bit cold up there. He only had his jeans and T-shirt on and he must have had quite a hangover."

I woke up in my side yard once in the bushes but that's the worst I've ever been. I was so close to making it home. Another 10 feet and I would have been in the door. I was HURT'N the next morning. I can't imagine a guy getting up a 100 feet into a tree though! yikes.

I've NEVER gotten that drunk.. i'm happy to say that i've never even passed out from being too drunk... i've been close though haha

one of my friends had to pass out on his front porch once when it was really cold and raining one night because he had lost his keys...

he found his key in his pocket when he woke up the next morning HAHAHAHA

i fell asleep in my friend's bath tub once, after they lost hope of sobbering me up

once back in res, i took my desk for my bed and nearly climbed on it to sleep, but I think I was still sobber enough to realise that my bed is not solid wood!

HAHAHAHAHAHA that's hilarious!

Worst for me was getting woken up by my bf passed out in the front hall bathroom of our house. Which really isn't bad, at least i was at home (and had been getting drunk at home with some friends so no real publicly embarassing behaviour).

I know my brother's had some pretty bad ones, but the funniest was finding him passed out right _next_ to his bed, on the floor!!! Apparently he had been under the impression that getting in the bed would have been too much effort given that it was 'too high up' (in his own words) BUAHAHAHAHHA

There are a few but the funniest is waking up one mornign on a couch in one of the senior apartments in college, minus my clothing, and then seeing my friend Stacy tiptoing down the stairs minus her clothing as well.

"Where did our clothes go?" I asked.

"I dunno - but here are our shoes and jackets." She replied

So I put on a fleece jacket that went to mid-thigh and my sneakers and walked the 1.5 miles back to my dorm room, on a Sunday morning, just as church was getting out next door (Helen Hills Hills Chapel, lol). I was reminded later of the 13-14 shots of tequila I'd done, the resulting mid-Feb mudfight in the backyard of the apartment building (twice), the group effort to shower my drunken ass (twice), and then our clothes were in the dryer all along!

Ah, college - meeeeeeemoriiiiiieeeees!

so what you're saying is that it only takes 13 shots of tequila and then come up with a good story to tell you the morning after?
