protein shakes and other various supplements

ive had friends who make big protien shakes every time after they work out because it supposedly helps build muscle faster and helps the muscle repair itself from the work out faster or something. is this true? if i continue my current dedicated work out routine, whats are the good options?

yes

I drink Muscle Milk Peanut Butter Chocolate after a work out. It helps turn fat into muscle.

Muscle Milk is my fav but I also hear ppl like Pro-Peptide more because it has 3 different types of Protein.. where Muscle Milk has only the whey protein.

I recommend BSN products because they really do work. Creatine has some water retention so if ur going to be taking creatine then you would need to drinka lot of water.. i'm not a FULL expert on products but i know more then any average person so I may be a bit wrong because i don't take it.

Cell Mass [creatine ]sells alot and NO-Xplode which is creatine + Nitric Oxide which gets into ur blood vessells to get u that 'pumped' feeling.

Protein builds muscle. It's the same thing as when you eat a steak, but in concentrated form. You really have to calculate and manage your intakes because too much protein does have some nasty side effects, and alot of people who use protein supplements devellop problems. You're better off just watching what you eat and keeping a diet strong in protein from regular foods.

Muscle Milk is shit...read your labels luv. You're putting in more saturated fat in your body than probably any food you eat.

Fat doesn't get turned into muscle.

When protein is digested, it is broken down until all that is left is an amino acid compound, and finally released through the walls of your small intestines to repair burned and broken muscle fibers (the result of weight training), which is what makes them grow.

Glutamine, which is another amino acid, is a supplement commonly used to assist in the process of protein synthesis. This is because hard trainers need more protein to rebuild their muscles (1.5-2g per lb of body weight), and glutamine helps assure the efficiency of that procedure.

without telling you why, im going to suggest Casein protein in the morning. Follow a workout with a decently carby meal to get glycogen levels back and then hit up some whey protein.

Creatine and Noxplode/superpump250ish kind of products do help but only if you are working out correctly. Most people work out till they are pretty tired and sweaty and stop. If youre not in there straining for every last inch dont bother, cuz all youve been doing is cardio with minor toning training and the supplements are all made to give you 1-2 last reps in a hard set. Growth happens after you push your body beyond its current limits.

Protein is hard on you kidneys though, and I suggest free range omega III eggs and sweet potatoes as a solid base for your diet.
