The American Mavericks

I was driving around today and the radio wason the classical channel.
A lot of it wouls start really abstratc and then break into some wikkid harmony and then would go off on a tangent and then back into something beethoven would be proud of.
Ive never heard of these guys and my google searches are coming up with a lot of san fran orchestra tour info but not much else....

anyone know much about em? it was quite inspiring stuff
