I'm Not a Girl, But My Vocalist Is, please review - vocal house

Hey,

I'm just about completely fed up with this song... so I'm not sure what to do.

It's desperately in need of some remastering, but every time I try I end up messing the mix completely up.

Just wondering if you guys think I should bother redoing the house version, or just go for broke on it and make a trance version.

I would have just trashed it and done the trance version, but everyone that's heard it so far really likes it, AND GODDAMNIT, HOUSE IS THE KING IN THIS EFFING PART OF THE WORLD, so chances are, if I make a trance version of it, they won't like it anymore...

So frustrating.

Please, please help me... like the song or not, your input would be very appreciated.

Just Not An Option < -- New version, no vocals.

[edit]

New Version

new mix

What does the new one have over the old? Old over the new?

imho it's already trance, well i would say more dance actually. but not house at all but beside that it's nice, the vocals have potential, but the synths doesn't reflect the mood of the vocals that well. the synths and vocals are like 2 different parts which doesn' fit the well together at the moment. sometimes the vocal is out of tune.. perhaps it would help if you fix it.

definately dance, not house, reminds me a bit of markus shulz - you won't see me cry

i must say that i like it, and it has great potential...i think slightly a bit to much reverb on the vocal (although they work well on the most part, your singer has a good voice) consider maybe changing some of the synth patches or reshaping them a bit (experiment a bit) somethings like the string patch are way to predominant in the mix. Everything just kinda mushes together when everything its all going at once might be the heavy use of reverb. i think stronger breaks are required, comes in a little sudden and not powerful enough. just some things to consider, good luck finishing it.

I agree...this ain't house...more of dance/eurodance ...

potential is there...but I would love to see more variety maybe

Vocals are cool but sometimes out of tune as someone already said...

nice job though...I would love to have such a cool vocalist

one important thing I noticed...there's no sub-bass at least not on my system...or to be exact it is there...but not enough powerfull

Well, I've managed to salvage a bit of what I had.

I actually uploaded an older version. Since then I've changed the leads and changed the hideous reverb to something more palatable.

A bunch of other stuff is different too.

The pads need to be changed. They're shyte.

Here are the changes, minus vocals.

What does everyone think now?

I really liked the one with vocals. The only problem was the leads. They need to be more phatter. And maybe some more rolling hats.
