Invisible Grin Early stages of a new track, need opinions.

Hey, so I've finally started working on a new tune. I thought my inspiration had gone away for good there for a while.
I could use some criticism on this clip, mainly the kick and bassline, but also the percs (I'm aware they sound a little loud and harsh though)

Thanks.

i like the kick

bass could use some more compression and eqing i think, but nice sound

perc is good, but i don't like the rhythm of the open hi hat, i think it should be straight

the rest of the percs are good but basic, maybe add interest with panning or effects (ping pong delay on some stuff maybe?)

and thats all there is really

now u need some pads, a lead, and some melody/harmony

Listening the bass is pretty standard sounding. I would reccoment using some kind of comb filter or phase delay to give it more character to the bass. I would also try to compress your percussion together and get a less "cheesy clap. :-D"

Will be here to listen to the next version.

The clap is too present in my opinion.

The bass in itself is nice, but too droney- it could use something else to liven it up a bit. Otherwise it's fine -- I personally like the pattern of the bass, so I'd keep that.

The hats sound too 90s. Not necessarily bad, but it makes me anticipate a more hard-edged drive with some darker tones and raw saw power.
