Der Mystik & Cybernetika - Forgotten Aeons (Full Share)

Hi mates, well after a year of having produced this track, and license it to UKTA digital for their copilation, we agreed to share it to all of you mates.
I still remember it took us quite a time to finish it. I still hold a sentimental value for this, since this was my first ever collab track.
It has its pros and cons, but nonethless I hope you enjoy it.

Der Mystik & Cybernetika - Forgotten Aeons

Also , S-Tune made a remix of it, it is pretty good, but is up to him if he wants to share it.

Cya.

i hear psy in the kick... its got a good thump. percs are nice and open. bass warm and deep. pulsing bass is good. creates a good drive and it is a nice sound. pads are big and emitional. guitary/bell/harp melody is nice but im not a fan of the sound. maybe a lower octave...?

the 30secs before the break seam a bit cluttered. but sound nice.

break. - piano is interesting. the piano seams nice but conflicts time wise with the quite cool 'takkra' style percs.

melody in break - piano and pads go great. original sound and emitional. both your styles are very present. almost a bit too present. its like they are fighting a bit...

other than my slight crits this is a well made piece. however i like my stuff a bit more minimal..

good work

rich

I like the bassline.
The piano sounds a bit odd, sounds dirty too, i want it more clean.
Break is nice, i like that orchestral feel.

Lead sounds off and distant if you see what i mean.. Hard to explain. It doesnt fit that good imo..
As rich said, it sounds like your styles are fighting
This fighting goes on all the tune...

Now i'm going to take a listen too S-Tunes remix

Thanks for the criticism, I appreciate that, yeah we were kind of fighting there hehe, it was our first collab after all, and my first ever with anyone.

Cheers

I like the percs here. Very complex.

1:00 is a really nice atmosphere.

When the mid-bass comes in it doesn't seem to flow very well.

1:26 I like that new synth.

2:30, it starts to get really pumping and active. Almost too much going on at one time.

The piano seems to compete with the beats in the breakdown.

I'm not really a fan of the piano melody. The weird grace notes are distracting.

After the breakdown gets going, the song really goes downhill, IMO. Too busy and I can't really get into the melodies.

Also during the chorus, the bassline was little more than some thudding between kicks. It could have been mixed better. The precussions that were so interesting in the opening were also very muffled.

listening:

nice kick, the bassline is deep and solid.. spacy percussions.. dark and wierd sounds.. i like the piano when the drums are gone, and the pads are nice, and wierd.. long breakdown, swirrling synths piano and pads go together well.. but i dont feel the track has alot of energy after the breakdown.. definitely nice track.. but unclearity is the big minus here as i see it..

+
great piano
loads of variations
original track
nice effects
good composition

-
synths maybe a but blurry in the mix
the overall mix is a bit unclear

Shame on me - havenīt reviewed the Original Mix yet...

Like the intro very much - great build-up!
As Subtle mentioned, you 2 always have much variation in your tracks - thatīs a big plus!
Well, in the break i also have the feeling that the piano competes with the drums... but i really like the pad that comes @ 4:26 with that melody!
In the main part after the break i miss somehow structure - one canīt concentrate on a main point/"statement" - i think thatīs the only really minus in that track!

In my opinion itīs always difficult to do an collab - especially when both are full "allround" producers - and i think thatīs the problem of the main part because there your both styles get in conflict...

Nevertheless, overall good work!

cheers,
S-Tune
