Dogukan Ires’ interest in music started off during his school years with Depeche Mode, and by the age of 20 years old he was totally immersed in the electronica scene. Within months he performed at the prestigious Bursa Aquarius Festival in Turkey, solidifying a spot among the countries elite in the year of 2001. He later took part in the JB Dance and Techno Festival in the summer of 2002. Dogukan gained valuable experience in Istanbul’s electronica scene by working with extremely brilliant producers, DJ Met & DJ Ufuk. Since 2004 he has been working with Emre Dundar, and is performing at various clubs in the Istanbul region. He has performed at such notable night clubs, such as Space, New Yorker Balo, Juke-Box, Urban Bug Lounge, and has performed at the Bughole Festival alongside the Chemical Brothers. More recently he played alongside Seb Fontaine for last years New Year’s Party in Istanbul. This EP we have here is quite something, where Growth has a very housey, playful vibe. This type of sound is very suitable for a summer’s day beach party, and has been doing the rounds among brilliant DJ’s such as Danny Howells, Desyn Masiello, Luke Fair, & Hernan Cattaneo. Mind Control on the flip is a dirtier take on the side of house. It has a ridiculous baseline, excellent rhythmic patterns and a hypnotic female voice lulling in and out. This undoubtedly will set the proper tone on the dancefloor. An excellent package from Dogukan and expect more from him and his friends in the near future.
