Hello again everyone -
I've shared Clarity through the Fog with just a couple TA's since it was recorded on July 1st of this month. And while I'm using it as my current promo, the set itself means so much more for me.
Electronic music, whether it's the beginnings of production or spinning a set, has always been about a release of emotion that sometimes I am unable to convey through words or other actions. No matter the emotion, whether it be anger, joy, sadness, or confusion, it seems sometimes I can best express what I'm feeling or at least release some of the emotion I hold inside just by turning on the decks. It's rare that I capture these moments with a recording, as all too frequently simply getting that first track on is far more important than hitting the "record" button.
This set started off as me just wanting to record a set for a friend, but quickly evolved into something much more. It was recorded at a time when I was exceptionally confused over a lot of things in my personal and musical life, had little direction, and was seeking some sort of inspiration. The inspiration I needed came from out of no where, hit me like a ton of bricks, and Clarity through the Fog was born.
The intention wasn't to throw down a set that by any means would get a club floor jamming, but rather a set to be taken as a whole, start to finish. I hate to use the cliche that "The music tells a story," and I guess maybe a better way to explain it is that maybe I feel the music best expresses "me," for whatever that's worth.
So if you get a chance, check out the set, let me know what you think. Sorry to be so long winded, but I thought a little back story wouldn't hurt .
Oh, and one note, I didn't change the ID3 tags before I uploaded it, so if it comes up as "July 1U" in a player don't worry, I'm just the moron who didn't change the title.
Thanks again everyone.
Peace, Cheers,
Rob
