What VAST resources you referring to? Iran is desert.. they don't have any refineries to use its own oil fields.. And what they need is electricity.. not oil. But for getting electricity they don't have any rivers to build dam on, terrain is rugged mountainous so solar power is not possible, and they don't have coal mines to set up power plants.. nuclear energy to make electricity for its industries is the MOST appropriate and efficient technology they can have. |
Last time I checked Japan was more mountainous, more populated, and has no nuclear weapons. Hmmmm, odd for I seem to recall Japan as one of the world's wealthiest countries.
Iran also has a more diverse climate then Japan, which can help with diversifying agriculture.
Iran also has a LOT of dams and irrigation systems.
Iran actually has the advantage over Japan in that it has oil fields (OPEC's second largest oil producer), and has the second largest amount of natural gas reserves.
Iran's biggest disadvantage is that Iran is a fanatic country run by people who not only can't seperate religion from state, but who also preach hate.
