VANDAL FT ODISSI
OBEY *DEXTER* (LOT 49) 1
Vandal unleashes the grungy breakbeat funk here with a vocal that sounds a bit like Peaches laid into a filthy, bleepy production with giant sustained distorted bass, hard hitting beats, nasty effects and great bleepy synth hooks. On the flip you'll find Dexter's mix a deeper, darker rub that has a Solid Groove kind of production quality and four to the floor push.(LOT49017)BREAKBEAT
SHODAN & FATMAN D
AND THE BEAT GOES ON *CTRL Z* (RAT / BOUNCE)
Follow up to Dj Assault's huge "G String" release, this is the second collaboration on the Rat / Bounce imprint. HOUSE (Deep)
SOUND DIGGERS
DIG YOUR OWN HOLE EP (GREENHOUSE)
Greenhouse have been delivering some top house recently and this new one is from a new UK signing out of Staffordshire in England. Starting with "Rack 'Em Up", a funky driving bassline and solid beats, Littlmen influences here. Inside cut "Flowers" goes deeper with jazzy Rhodes licks, head nodding bass and vocal snippets throughout. Flip for our favorite "Shades On", a peak-time mover with broad appeal. Solid beats and percussion, filtered chords, deep bass and cool vox. Last is "Dirtfloor Shuffle": skippy beats and hats, various vocal elements.(GHR023)HOUSE
DAVOMAT
VENDING MACHINE *B JOHNSON* (JUSTIFIED CAUSE)
Hot fire from the shores of Spain. The original mix of "Vending Machine" is a chunky west coast house gem with thickly cut beats & bass, dope pushing key stabs, shuffling hat patterns and bits of trippy and bleepy sound action going on in the background. Then there's the remix where Brett Johnson does one of those "better than the original" things, damn his mix is definitely some of the funkiest shit we've heard from him in some time with breaky beats, low slung bass funk, wild sounds & effects and a nasty pitched vocal bit.(CAUSE006)HOUSE
DEMARKUS LEWIS
REFLEXATIONS (AESOTERIC)
Yet another rock solid outing for Demarkus Lewis and the Aesoteric imprint. The title track "Reflexations" features deep chords & phat bass with a pushing synth line, squiggly sounds and straight jacking beats. On the flip "R2D2" explores Demarkus' deeper more electronic side while never failing to keep an ear to the dancefloor, sounds like Kerri Chandler circa 1995, a dope epic journey. Rounding off the ep is our favorite of the bunch, the very Joshua flavored "K Swiss" deep, dirty, jacking and a real dancefloor treat.(AER023)HOUSEE
ERYKAH BADU
IN LOVE WITH YOU *MOLTISANTI* (WHITE)
Dope deep house retooling of Erykah Badu's "In Love With You" courtesy of Chris Moltisanti. Chris' mix has a fantastic Franck Roger / Dj Fudge vibe, warm and soulful with great percussion, warm chords and Erykah's heartfelt vocals. A dub is included as well which has a more Dj Gregory styled electronic house feel.(TMT005)HOUSE

JACKING JILL/JESSE GOT JACKED (BUENO BOOTY)
Hot three-tracker of R&B/hip-hop-meets-house bootleg cuts for the Igloo, Herbal Essence and Peaches heads out there. This one is a straight bumper on the jacking Chicago tip, with snappy drums, cut-up vocals and filtered licks galore. Solid booty stuff that'll make the party happy.(BUEN02)HOUSE
JIMPSTER FT ALEXANDER EAST
AMOUR *JESSE ROSE/SWAG* (FREERANGE)
Jimpster's 'Amour' gets a fresh set of remixes worthy of the mighty original from red-hot Dubsided artist Jesse Rose, Swag and Deepchild. Rose lets his mutant Chicago tech sound infect 'Amour' with a series of warped hypnotic sounds and synth percussion while Alexander East's vocals get an equal freaky treatment. Swag then get hold of 'Don't Push It' which goes deep into electroland for this pumping bleepy jack track that will keep the Swag fans happy as it builds to a bass heavy thumpathon. The icing on the cake is Deepchild's mix, one of his trademark late nite glitchy minimal grooves to take you back down to earth after a heavy night in the clubs.(FR075)HOUSE
MILTON JACKSON
EVIL THEME EP (URBAN TORQUE)
Icon/Bear Funk/Tax Discs operator Milton Jackson picks up the slack for the Switch and Jesse Rose fans with some bugged-out house funk of his own here on Urban Torque. He makes great use of some twisted string chords and a demented bassline wobble but its the beats that will really grab your attention and get those hips shakin'. Two more chunkified tracks on the flip including the warm punchy 'Iberia' on the hypnotic house tip and 'One Of These Days' adding that pinch of summertime flava.(URTR025)TECH HOUSE

This mix touches on the same feeling they gave "GO" with an even harder acidy edge. Steppin up to the mic is Dj Heather giving a missy elliot styled rhyme about makin music with you mouth that jams the box. Already getting huge love from Derrick Carter.b Greenskeepers Re-visit pull Diz back into the studio to lay down some more vocals, beats, rhymes and life for the re-vist mix. KAMA & MC GREGOR VS DA FRESH
10 PM (PUMPZ)
Last time we saw the lethal combination of Kama & McGregor it was on the Electrochoc imprint. Here for the debut release on Pumpz the duo reunite and drop a serious slice of deep and funky house. "10 PM" has a Mylo / Linus Loves thanks to some super hip retro flavored synth riffs while shuffling beats, and deep stabs & effects keep you deep in the sauce until the breakdown kicks you out. Remix comes from Da Fresh who toughen things up adding a hard edge to the synth hooks and more rugged beats while still keeping the pretty and deep melodic vibe of the original.(PUMPZ001)HOUSE
BUTCHER & NICHOLLS
SEX (WHITE)
This big room number has a killer Mark Knight / Toolroom Trax meets electro house sound, with deep heavily effected synths, pumping beats and entrancing pads, sounds and effects, the breakdown is a piano fuelled hands in the air affair and when the track kicks back in all hell breaks loose. Pure peak time action from rising UK producer Butcher who has been responsible for a few of those Illicit tunes and whites we thought were the Hoxton Whores.(SEX001)HOUSE

CIREZ D
THEME *J DAHLBACK/S LEGER* (MOUSEVILLE)
BACK IN STOCK!!!!! Cirez D aka Eric Prydz with the mighty 'Mouseville Theme' on the A and two mixes of 'Knockout' on the flip courtesy of John Dahlback and Sebastian Leger!! "Mous eville Theme' kicks off like a rocket with floor-shaking kicks, big dirty bass stabs and some crazy off-kilter riffs and edits. Eric really outdoes himself on this one as he brings in truckloads of warped bass and twisted synth action. John Dahlback remixes Mouse002 'Knockout' and turns it into a freaked-out electro tech banger. LFO-mangled sounds and a SICK bassline drop bring the energy level to a ridiculous level. We think this is one of John's finest productions, PERIOD. Sebastian Leger gives you a chunkier tech workout with some tasty acid licks snuck in here and there. Like the other cuts there is plenty of energy to spare but Leger brings it all within a tight, tech house framework that will easily cross over to the prog and techno jocks.(MOUSE005)ELECTRO HOUSE

2020 SOUNDSYSTEM
No Order Rmx 20:20 Vision (UK)
2020Soundsystem are one of the best live bands within an ever-increasing new wave of acts mixing up electronic music with indie, punk and p-funk - think Colder / DFA / Jamie Liddell. Featuring Ralph Lawson, Dubble D and the various members of Silver City, the Soundsytem are the live, beating heart of 2020 Vision today. 'No Order' is the title track and first single to be taken from 2020 Soundsystem's debut album. The A side 2020Soundsystem remix is a brilliant, epic mix in two parts - starting out mid paced electrofunk before morphing halfway into a Berlin meets Detroit meets New York techno disco odyssey. The Discoteque Dub is the first of two superb dub mixes, it takes the electro disco bassline and Danny's rock solid beats to form the basis of an exceptional modern, Italo influenced electro dub. The Basics Dub , as the name suggests, has been seriously road tested at the Leeds underground institution Back To Basics and tips its hat to the sounds of classic Chicago and New York house. Tracks: No Order (2020Soundsystem Remix) / No Order (Discoteque Dub) / No Order (Basics Dub).
PROGRESSIVE / TRIBAL / TECH
LAYO & BUSHWACKA
FEELS CLOSER *PEACE DIVISION* (OLMETO)
If you were lucky enough to catch this on the LIMITED pre release run, you know how completely devistating "Feels Closer" is. If not, it has some of the nastiest funkiest percussion you'll likely hear all year, backed with tough beats that have a Peace Division "Beatz In Piecez" feel. We're guessing that's why the boys enlisted the duo to remix this killer. The Peace Division mix is a psychotic, deep schizophrenic episode with muted pad stabs, trippy effects and slowly building grooves. They really flip the hell out of the synth action and mute the percussion and use it as rhythm more than jack giving the track a deeper Berlin house appeal.(OLM007)HOUSE-
MASHTRONIC FT MATTHEW BRADLEY
SUPERNOVA (SEX ON WAX)
It's been a while since we've heard from the 16B's Sex On Wax imprint but well worth the wait. YOSHIMOTO
DO WHAT U*M SCHULZ/TRENTEMOLLE (COLDHARBOUR)
Yoshimoto's 'Do What U Do' has been causing major dancefloor disruption over the past year thanks in large part to the still-massive Trentemoller remix which we STILL can't seem to keep in stock. Now Markus Schulz picks up this electro-house tune for his own Coldharbour imprint and gives it a prog and electro-tinged reworking that is off the charts. Also on board in case you missed it first time is the Trentemoller remix too making this release a real crossover weapon!(CLHR015)ELECTRO HOUSE
TRISCO
FASHIONISTA (WHOOP)
Trisco responsible for more than a few Positiva hits return with a fabulous new production that looks like will spawn some more of that old school bidding mayhem that went on over "Musak". Big one for Lawler right now.(WH101)PROGRESSIVE

RESORCERER / PACIFIST (TROJAN)

TRANCE
MARCOS
AD INFINITUM *DJ FEEL* (A STATE OF TRANCE)

'Ad Infinitum' combines techy synth bleeps and basslines with Marcos' trademark bubbling melodies and arpeggiations, punchy beats and sweeping pads that all build to a solid climax. The flip takes gets even harder with furious Breaks and hard driven basslines. If you like to feel your music then this is the 12" for you. Pure Mayhem!
SUB FOCUS/NIGHTBREED
Verano/Arachnaphobia Frequency Records
Man of the moment Sub Focus steps up with long time friends Howtek & Spektrum for his return to Frequency. 'Verano' is a roller done in first class fashion. It instantly builds with high energy levels that leave you quaking in your boots. This track has been on dubplate for a few months now and like everything Sub Focus touches, has absolutely everyone caning it and in turn making this a highly anticipated release. lSparfunk & Nightbreed join forces on the flip for this metal infused tear-out. 'Arachnophobia' has been doing the rounds on dubplate for a while and has been a key favourite with the likes of Ed Rush, Pendulum and Mampi Swift. Both Nightbreed and Sparfunk are known for their releases on Ram with 'Pack Of Wolves' & 'Rapture', Both of which were anthems in there own right selling many thousands of copies.
