Need help buying an American to European Foreign Plug Adapter

http://www.110220volts.com/Merchant...roduct_code=MU5

Does anybody know a store where I can find this ? I tried Radio Shack and they only have the ones that come as a huge kit aka $29.99. I just need that one plug adapter(~$1-$2.99 at most), not the complete world wide set. Also, it cant be from websites, since Im leaving to Germany in a few days and shipping will take long. Anybody know which stores in NYC might have em ?

you probably still need a voltage converter, in addition to the plug adapter

I got mine from Radio Shack (probably the same $30 thing that you saw), and it has all the different kinds of adapters built-in

Nah, its for my digital camera. The charger says ~120-240 V. So it works with either voltage, I just needed it to plug into the outlet there. I foudn the plug for $1.50 at a hardware study earlier. For other appliances, im sure u need the adapter also. Turns out, teh Sony Digital Cams can work with both voltages, prob. a built in mechanism.

they sell them at airports as singles, if you are willing to wait last minute. have you tried all those computer stores already? i have a few singles and i got them in airports. i also have a few sets (of adapters, i dont bother with converters) and i didnt think it was useful at the time, but i wound up using at least 3 plugs from them.

you dont need a converter so long as it says 100-240V and 50-60Hz. if it doesnt say that the dont bother if it is something of importance to you. i blew up a hair dryer one time in england and i ruined a pair of speakers in germany. and converters cant be plugged in for that long.

do you plan on just staying in germany? b/c if you go to the UK and i think a few parts of italy (never saw it, but i saw the plug in one of those sets) they use different plugs. dont know if you can find one for 2-3$ as singles can run about 7-10$. you can geta set for $20.

good luck and have fun!
