Producing a song..and finding out it's already out there =/

Have any of you guys been working on a track..and working your ass off your all happy? And then when you listen to it over and over agian..your ears say..this sounds like a song thats been made already. That pisses me off =(...just happen today..worked on something and apparently it sounds like Mike Koglin - Yoake. http://www.yousendit.com/transfer.p...F2494AD152CD77F

Hey, also look ont he brightside, it means your production skills and ideas are doing petty well..

Golden rule: If you have an idea (especially for a remix) do it immediately. More than once I stalled and then heard some crappy version of what I was working on get released. That's more annoying!

Based around the chord structure and keys most typically used in trance (7th's, 5th's, and simple major and minor keys) it can be a pain in the ass to make something original sounding but still trance like. not to mention the sheer volume of trance tracks that are already out there. given the limitations of trance music chord structures it can get pretty frustrating.

i have been there myself many times, but then i started learning more music theory from other genres and decided to apply some of my new found knowledge to trance music.

The key to being original is to break the rules
