I haven't seen anyone talk about this issue yet. I know there might be some people who will not buy the PS3 because of the ridiculous amount in cost.

I was reading on ign about how the PS3 will be dropping the launch unit amount from 2 million down to 400,000. Japan is getting only 100,000 at launch date. A bit strange I think.

I was wondering when the pre-orders were going to take place, so I called EB.. They told me if they were going to do pre-orders, it would be in October sometime. Gamestop says that Sony will take pre-orders on certain dates within the next month. So that means you would have to call everyday to find out if you can put a pre-order down for a PS3. I'm almost afraid that they might ask you to put down the payment in full

I really hope that it doesn't get as chaotic in the US as it did 6 years ago when the PS2 came out. People shooting each other for the system...Maybe it might happen this time too.

I'd also like to hear what some of you may have come across in terms of the pre-ordering issue or anything else.

I'm wondering if this system is worth the ludicrous asking price. May be better to wait for a year for the inevitable price drop, and more games to be released.

Xbox 360 is 400 euro with HD cable

PS3 is 600 euro without HD cable, HD cable is 100 euro. Is also delayed till March in Europe and dont have next gen soccer games. The only game for me who is reason enough to buy a PS3 is FFXIII and the next Chrono Cross (not official yet) and my biggest wish a remake of FFVII. And if they come its prob in 2010 or something. Metal Gear Solid 4 is also great but I think it will hit the 360 a few months after the ps3 release....

So im very happy with my 360 at the moment and im not thrilled by the things sony is doing at the moment... so for the next years i will play only 360 and maybe a Wii..

And I also thought the PS3 for $600 is doing the HDMI support which does the whole HD thing?

Sony announced on the day of the delay in Europe that also the HDMI cables will be sold separately.

I have readed about a next Chrono Cross for ps3 some time ago on a gamesite, it was a rumour but they were pretty sure about it... So lets hope it will come for sure.

I asked at an EB here in Canada, and they said they were NOT taking any pre-orders for ps3. He said the company has said straight no to it because of what happened with the 360. MS promised more units than it was able to deliver and they are scared the same will happen with Sony.

So..I gotta wait online at like midnight waiting in the cold for a ps3? That's gonna be gay. It's gonna be Chaos City the day when ps3 arrives. But Nov. 17th is also on a Sunday. Should be interesting.

lol... half a grand for a toy?

Here in Ontario it will be closer to a full grand for the premium package.

If the premium package is infact $700 it will be $800 after tax, throw in a game and another controller...

Sony's at it again. Short supplies, hype effect. The truth is, the console is crippled, the chip's ram reading is SIXTEEN MEGS/SECOND. For those who are not familiar with hardware, I'll use a simple word : ridiculous. This is why they are in a short supply...

$600 for the console
$100 for the cable(what a ripoff)
$ 60(minimum) for a game
$ xx for additional stuff you don't even know but will be compulsuary (as usual, thank you Sony)
$ 800 roughly to play Tekken 12 or Granturismo 7 ?

You've gotta be kidding, right ?

I predict a lot of non-working consoles. People, one advice, hold on to your money, wait a little(a week or 2),and see what happens...

I'm still in love with Mario 64. LoL, I thought that was one of the best games to ever happen in history

Thankfully I have the HDMI cord already. Oh well. My brother and I already have over $900 for the system + accessories. I'm just waiting on when they will take pre-orders.
